Midweek Message, August 3, 2016

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.  Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not much more valuable than they?  Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?  (Matt 6:25-27).

I read these words of Jesus and agree with them – all the time – except when I worry!!  Do you know what I mean?  I try really hard to do what Jesus tells me to do; I really try hard not to worry, and I’m often successful.  But then something happens, and I go over the edge.

I am pretty sure that deep down I understand that God really is in control and I can rest in His arms, and trust His ways, even when I can can’t see completely through the haze.  I know God wants the best for me, and for you.  I can trust God – always, even when a part of me worries.  How about you?

Have a worry-free week,

Cliff
